We have now moved seamlessly in to our spring season where we offer Bulbs 'In the Green,' a marvelous selection of Dahlias, Lilies, Gladioli and Begonias, plus many bare-root perennials and some weird and wonderful show-stoppers among our Miscellaneous Summer Bulbs.
If you missed out on Snowdrop bulbs, Bluebell bulbs, Aconites or the pretty Narcissus lobularis last autumn, don’t worry because we have a wonderful selection of spring flowering bulbs available 'in the green.'
As any experienced gardener knows, planting small bulbs such as Snowdrops, Bluebells or Aconites 'in the green' (in leaf and actively growing) will achieve the very best results for the following years. Our plants are lifted from the nursery beds when in leaf, bundled into units of 100 and dispatched directly to you for planting in to their new locations.

Some of these bulbs, such as Gladioli, Crocosmia and Anemones have been strong favourites for many years. Others, such as Arisaema, Gloriosa, Cannas and Callas are truly exotic but perfectly happy in a British garden.

All over the world the lily has been a celebrated flower for thousands of years. It's easy to see why with so many shapes, colours and sizes, not to mention their powerful fragrance.
Lilies are so easy to grow too. All they ask for is a little drainage so that they don't become water logged. They can then be left for many years, flowering again and again.
Lilies look stunning in pots or as a cut flower in the home.
The Dahlia is back! A traditional garden favourite with many different colours, shapes and sizes available. Their tubers should be planted out once the frost has subsided to then provide colourful blooms right through the summer and into autumn.
It is advisable to pinch out the early growth to gain strong, bushy plants. Taller types, particularly Decorative or Cactus Dahlias, may require a cane as they mature. All Dahlias make good cut flowers.
Lift and store for winter or just mulch over in milder parts of the U.K.
Begonias offer an explosion of colour for hanging baskets, window boxes, pots or tubs. The tubers can be planted after all risk of frost has past, using a loose, fertile soil or compost with plenty of drainage. Water and feed regularly once planted.
It pays to remove dead flowers as well as pinching out any long stems during early growth to encourage stronger, bushier plants.
